CHOCOLATE STRAWBERRY DONUTS

Does it get any better than Chocolate Strawberry Donuts? We think not! Just think – buttery soft donuts, topped with a chocolate glaze and then Crunchies Freeze Dried Strawberries in Milk Chocolate. If you think this sounds good, just wait until you taste it!  

We know this recipe may sound a bit complicated, but we promise the extra effort is worth it. We recommend using a knife to chop Crunchies Freeze Dried Strawberries in Milk Chocolate into small pieces. This will allow you to top your donuts with Chocolate Crunchies and make eating them much easier.

TOTAL TIME: 45 Minutes

INGREDIENTS

Donut 

  • 2 Cups of Baking Mix (We used Bisquick) 
  • 1/3 Cup of Milk 
  • 1 Egg 
  • 2 TBSP of Sugar 

Donut Topping 

  • Crunchies Freeze Dried Strawberries in Milk Chocolate 
  • 1/3 Cup of Butter, softened 
  • ½ Cup of Cacao or Cocoa Powder 
  • 2 Cups of Powdered Sugar 
  • 1/3 Cup of Milk 
  • 1 Tsp of Vanilla Extract 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 
  2. Add baking mix, egg, milk and sugar to a mixing bowl. Mix until well combined.    
  3. Add mixture to a donut baking pan.  
  4. Bake donuts in the oven for 7 to 9 minutes. 
  5. Allow donuts to cool after baking. 
  6. Add butter, milk, vanilla extract, powdered sugar and cacao powder to a mixing bowl and mix until frosting has reached a fluffy consistency.  
  7. Once donuts are cool, top with frosting. 
  8. Using a knife, break apart the Crunchies Freeze Dried Strawberries in Milk Chocolate into small pieces and use to top the frosted donuts.
